Changes in the Online Casino Industry Worry Microgaming’s CEO

Recent events in the online gambling industry include the announcement that Microgaming CEO John Coleman will be leaving his position at the end of the year. Andrew Clucas, the current chief operating officer, will take over as CEO on January 1, 2022, replacing Coleman in the position.

Since becoming CEO in June 2018, Coleman has been at the helm. After more than 14 years of service at the prestigious online casino studio, he was let go. After Roger Raatgever left the company, he was promoted from within.

Coleman, during his tenure as CEO, distinguished himself as a powerful and compassionate leader with an open approach to management. His main concerns throughout had been a renewed commitment to corporate social responsibility and a more cautious approach to gaming. The corporation stated this week that he also appreciated his staff members.

Concerning Andrew Clucas

Clucas joined Microgaming in 2009 after a distinguished career in the Royal Air Force. He made a rapid and successful ascent through the company’s ranks and went on to spearhead initiatives in key areas such as operations, development, and sales.

He took on the role of COO in the first month of 2018.

Coleman, who will remain with the online casino company in a non-executive capacity, expressed this week what an incredible privilege it has been to head Microgaming. He praised the iGaming behemoth’s extraordinary staff as the company’s greatest asset.

Coleman declared that after 17 years it was finally time for him to embark on his next major journey. He went on to say that Andrew Clucas, whom he considers to be not just a good leader but also a friend, was more than capable of taking over the team in his absence.

Praise Befitting Of Coleman

The iGaming industry has a long history of promoting from within, and with Clucas’ appointment, that trend will continue.

Clucas commented on his new position and on taking over for Coleman, saying that he could not speak highly enough of Coleman as a leader and as an advocate for the organization. The opportunity to continue Coleman’s work, he added, was a thrill, and he considered it a great privilege to be named CEO of Microgaming.

Clucas has stated that he plans to manage the online gambling behemoth with the same dedication and fervor as Coleman did.
